Phase II Research Study of Radiofrequency Ablation of Tumors in Children

Seattle Children's and the University of Washington, Seattle, Washington is offering a Phase II research study of radiofrequency ablation of tumors in children.

The radiofrequency ablation (RFA) procedure is performed under anesthesia with needles placed into the tumors and then heated to kill the tumor. This can be performed as an outpatient or as an inpatient procedure.

All children under 21 years old who have tumors or lesions may be eligible for this research study. Dr. Hoffer and his study team will determine eligibility based on current treatment and other available options.

RFA at Seattle Children's Hospital is available as a standard of care. The research protocol will allow us to more closely follow your child's quality of life, and the response of the tumor. One or more follow-ups, conducted over at least 3 months, may be required.
